RCON Setup
Configure direct RCON access for Geofence and advanced features.
What is RCON?
RCON (Remote Console) is a protocol that allows direct communication with your game server. While CRCON provides a web-based interface, direct RCON access enables low-level operations like real-time player position tracking.
Note: RCON credentials are different from CRCON credentials. CRCON wraps RCON with a web interface, but the Geofence feature needs direct access.
Why is RCON Needed?
The Geofence feature requires direct RCON access because:
- •Real-time player position tracking every few seconds
- •Immediate action when players leave the zone
- •Lower latency than going through CRCON API
